Mexican food in Manila is younger as a scene than some of the city's other adopted cuisines, but it has settled in with real confidence. Tacos — birria in particular — sparked a wave of enthusiasm in the last few years that brought taqueria-style spots to neighborhoods that hadn't had them before. Alongside the tacos: loaded burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and guacamole made tableside at the more relaxed spots.
